- Appointed to the board of Graig Ship Management in May 1998. Lewin�s career started in the marine insurance market in 1967 and he was appointed a marine underwriter in 1973. He has skills in all classes of marine insurance, particularly hull, P & I and liability. Lew was promoted to director of H Clarkson Ltd in 1979 and in 1981 was a founder member of Martens Horner Ltd, which merged with Heath Marine in 1987 to become Heath Martens Horner. He was promoted to managing director in 1990 where in addition to overall responsibility for hull, P & I and liability he also had geographical responsibility for all business emanating from Latin America and in February 1998 Lew joined Lambert Fenchurch Marine Group Ltd as managing director with specific account responsibility for several major shipowning clients. In March 2000 Lewin jioned Tyser, the oldest Lloyd's broker in London and a division of Tyser Holdings Ltd.
