  • On his return in 1946 from active duty during WW II he was appointed a director of Graig. In 1951 he opened the London office and was appointed chairman to the group in 1971. He has 53 years experience in shipping. In addition to his company positions, Desmond is a member of the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights, a Freeman of the City of London and was the appointed Honorary Consul for The Netherlands until 1992.
